        Growing up in the Little Karoo, I learned to value the smaller things in life. From an early age I had a passion for woodwork and creating something of great meaning. Quality was always my top priority and it is through passion and fine attention to detail that I have strived to perfect my craft. Seeing the final product and my vision come to life has always been the most rewarding to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        After school I studied a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management and worked in the industry for several years. It was a rewarding journey and fuelled my passion to create something remarkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        When my time in construction ended, I travelled the globe for a few years and explored breath taking countries and heart-warming cultures. I realised that time stands still in moments of passion and beauty. And it is by discovering all this beauty and variety that my vision expanded and new dreams for the future were instilled in me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        I subsequently decided to follow my deeply engrained passion for woodwork, and created my joinery business called, Free Edge Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The name Free Edge Design was inspired by the natural beauty of the outer layer of a tree trunk, called a \u201cfree edge\u201d or \u201clive edge\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Free Edge Design strives to create furniture from a raw substance into a masterpiece, capturing the raw elements and natural beauty of the wood while still allowing for creativity, elegance and style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        We specialize in all hardwoods, from customized resort style outdoor furniture, to contemporary indoor pieces. Our aim is to bring any concept to life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        As the company grew, we also started venturing out into other areas of business which now include shop fitting, structural woodwork (pergolas, decking and balustrades) as well as artificial grass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
